SI: You once said that you seek younger photographers with that "Special X Factor"
of budding talent. What do you mean by this?
KQ: It is that special quality that you see in some models that lets you know absolutely beyond a
shadow of a doubt that they will be a star. Photographers can share a similiar thing. They are doing
something different; they are leaders. Even though they aren't stars yet, they believe in following
their own vision rather than following trends. They also have an innate knowledge of their craft. This
is key because a person with a good idea, but no knowledge of to create the idea is not usually successful.
Whereas someone who really understands their medium will strive for exquisitie lighting, format and
composition.
SI: What advice would you give to photographers who want to work with ZOOZOOM?
KQ: Hav a strong vision and identity. Don't compromise a shot for anything and follow through on a storyline.
Have a strong team who knows their craft and collaborate like a team. The results are usually outstanding as
many creative heads going in the same direction will yield good results.
